Winter is a Drag!

We’re tired of the gloomy weather of winter just dragging on. Enough already! Enough! Good riddance to snow and ice that clog the power lines, and shut us off from the rest of the world. Enough to the exorbitant costs of heating fuel, and the guy who shovels my snow (who must go home each night to the mansion that I and his other victims have paid for.) We want warmth and plenty of it; we want flowers, sunlight, a cheerful spring, birds tweeting, bugs doing whatever it is bugs do. Yes, birds and their tweeting, PLEASE!

The Little Plant that Could

Buried inside a smothering plastic pot, and wrapped in suffocating plastic tape, the “Little Plant That Could” somehow survived. I freed it! Well, my cousin and I did. It’s thriving. I add a little water and tons of love and affectionate words every day. However, I think it may be time to transplant the little guy to soil.   My “Lucky Bamboo.” Although “Lucky” is not beautiful, but as with many things that are not, the enthusiasm and positive feeling that he elicits are just as important, really more so. “Lucky” affects all who see him in a positive way! I guess he’s just lucky.

Cherry Blossoms

Are here and aren’t they lovely and hopeful? They come to us while it’s still chilly almost as if they’re saying, “We can’t wait, we want life now!” If spring is hopeful, then surely cherry blossoms are their cheerleaders.   We love these exquisite visions of happiness.

Remember When You Talked to Your Plants?

Well, I do… Except sometimes I talk to other things, too. Like the car, and the refrigerator…Just to encourage them. It doesn’t do any harm.   I don’t know for sure that it helps, but I don’t know for sure that it doesn’t. Photo by Melissa Lyver
